A High Tea held at the Italian Club, Launceston raised $2,400 towards supporting the CWA Children’s Literacy Project, aimed at improving children’s literacy in Tasmania.
Jo Palmer (Minister for Education), Adriana Taylor (President, CWA in Tasmania) and Steve Martin (President, Children’s Book Council of Australia – Tasmanian Branch) gave inspiring speeches.
A children’s book titled ‘Tassie Rhymes for Litle Tigers’ has been produced and distributed to selected schools, child care centres and neighbourhood centres and is available for purchase.
